Today I visited Manchester School of Art’s Degree Show with friends, both as part of our university brief for our third & final year, and also because we wanted to check out everyone’s work.
I particularly liked Laura Stanworth’s work, which included the ‘Graphic Design Olympics’ board game. Nick Yates‘ work also impressed me, with the ‘Celebrity Matches’ packaging and Emergency Headwear poster. It made a change to see some really playful design which has the potential to bring what we do into a wider domain - games, popular culture etc. I also really liked Jan Agulto’s alternative design for the Metro newspaper - something I found refreshingly different.
I’ve included links to the work - in all honesty I thought the entire exhibition was great, and I’m already raring to go for my third and final year studying Graphic Design!
Other work from the show can be seen here. It runs until tomorrow - 20th June, at Quay House in Manchester.
