Ahoy there! I’m not on a ship or anything remotely nautical but just felt like saying that.
My Type & Faith project is picking up pace! I’m still adding more as I go along, but the first batch of posters are up on my website! I’m hoping to get them up for sale in the Autumn, so keep your eyes peeled if you like them! I’ll also keep everyone updated on here as I complete more designs.
If there’s a particular verse YOU would like to see featured, then tweet me!
Check out the Type & Faith project here.

Here’s the latest edition from my stop-motion film series, Luigi & the Cinquecentos. This ep was released in October - go ahead and take another look if you’ve seen it before, or maybe you’re viewing for the first time! Filmed entirely with a Canon EOS 450D.
I’m thinking of making another episode with a twist. If you think I should, tweet me @callumtweeters or drop a comment on the Facebook page!

I’ve been working on some typographic posters and prints inspired by the bible. The series is entitled ‘Type & Faith’. I’ll be revealing them fully soon, and they’ll be available to purchase from Autumn/Fall 2012.

I’ve just been reading this article on The Drum, highlighting reports claiming that The Guardian newspaper is going online-only, therefore ditching its printed edition altogether, in 2013.

If these reports have any truth in them, then I personally think it would be a bad move. Firstly, there’s the question of accessibility. I know of many elderly people who have grown up with newspapers, and buy them every single day, to see what’s happening in the world. Not only that, but the traditional newspaper brings together so many articles and so much variety into one publication. Does this happen on a website? No.
Secondly, there’s the Guardian’s mobile apps. I’ve tried to get on with the iPad app, I really have, but I just don’t like it. I’d much prefer to pay 20p and read through the Independent’s condensed ‘i’ Newspaper, something which brings ideas from digital and applies them to print. So before they give up on print altogether, I think the Guardian must really think about their app’s interface. It is, after all, in its first incarnation.
Digital is still in its early stages. There are still plenty of awful mobile apps around, mainly because the mobile app revolution is still happening - the app store only arrived four years ago, let’s not forget. The Guardian, in my eyes, with such a large readership of people from the older generations, would be daft to ditch print and completely rely on digital, let alone for it to happen so soon.

Hi everyone. Why not take a look at my brand new Behance portfolio? I’m still in the process of adding projects but feel free to follow me or ‘appreciate’ my work!
I’m hoping to upgrade my site some time over the Summer too, meaning my Tumblr should hopefully be able to become a bit more, well, ‘bloggy’! So stay tuned!

Today I visited Manchester School of Art’s Degree Show with friends, both as part of our university brief for our third & final year, and also because we wanted to check out everyone’s work.
I particularly liked Laura Stanworth’s work, which included the ‘Graphic Design Olympics’ board game. Nick Yates‘ work also impressed me, with the ‘Celebrity Matches’ packaging and Emergency Headwear poster. It made a change to see some really playful design which has the potential to bring what we do into a wider domain - games, popular culture etc. I also really liked Jan Agulto’s alternative design for the Metro newspaper - something I found refreshingly different.
I’ve included links to the work - in all honesty I thought the entire exhibition was great, and I’m already raring to go for my third and final year studying Graphic Design!
Other work from the show can be seen here. It runs until tomorrow - 20th June, at Quay House in Manchester.
*Apologies for the iffy photos - blame my iPhone!

The Big Send Off
I was approached by the University of Chester’s Christian Union to create the invitations for the end of year formal. Seeing as it was a Summer event, I wanted to capture the spirit of this well loved season, going for a vintage floral theme, and something I felt to be in keeping with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee happening on the same weekend.
